Under the open air of Wroclaw: a concert of solidarity with Belarusian political prisoners.

On 25 May 2024, a charity concert in support of the Wroclaw-city shelter was held in Wroclaw. This shelter provides shelter for political prisoners, their families and Belarusians forced to leave their homeland due to repression.
The organisers prepared a rich programme. The guests could visit stands with children's entertainment, make aqua make-up, buy paintings by Belarusan artists and jewellery with national symbols.
Special attention was drawn to the solidarity stand with photos of political prisoners - a silent reminder of those who are still imprisoned in their homeland.
The administrators of the shelter organised an interesting event: for a donation of 10 PLN, visitors received two traditional pancakes with sour cream. This raised additional funds for the shelter.

Unfortunately, in the middle of the event, a heavy downpour started, which reduced the number of guests. Many people, afraid of inclement weather, preferred to stay at home. This significantly affected the outcome of the event: the planned amount could not be collected. However, those who came, despite all the obstacles, showed that in our society there is a place for real responsiveness and support. Despite the difficulties, the concert left warm memories and hope for the future. After all, the main thing is kindness and desire to help, which are not afraid of any weather. The concert achieved its main goal - it drew attention to the problem of political prisoners in Belarus and raised funds to support those who found refuge in Wroclaw.

The organisers thank all participants and guests for their support and remind: the doors of the Wroclaw City Shelter are always open for those who need help.

Such events not only provide practical help to those in need, but also support the spirit of solidarity in society, reminding of the importance of protecting human rights and democratic values.
