"International Solidarity in Action"
The Shelter for political refugees from Belarus in Wroclaw continues to receive support from concerned people and organisations from all over Europe. This centre, which has become home to many who were forced to flee their homeland due to political persecution, faces new challenges on a daily basis. However, thanks to the constant help of volunteers and charitable organisations, the shelter not only survives, but also develops.
Special mention should be made of the tireless work of volunteers from Italy. Alena, coordinator of the Italian support group, regularly organises the collection and sending of humanitarian parcels. "Each box is not just stuff, it is a message of solidarity and support," says Alena. Her efforts help to provide shelter residents with necessary items and food.
The Lithuanian organisation DAPAMOGA also contributed by organising a large one-off delivery of items. This action replenished the shelter's stock.
The local Belarusians of Wroclaw are not left out. Their donations have recently enabled the purchase of several bunk beds, increasing the capacity of the shelter and improving living conditions.
The Red Cross continues to provide invaluable support with monthly food deliveries.
"I am extremely grateful for the support we receive," notes Olga, Shelter Coordinator. "Every gesture of help, whether regular deliveries or one-off actions, makes a huge difference. It's not just material support, it's a symbol of solidarity that gives our wards the strength to move on."
Shelter in Wroclaw has become a shining example of international solidarity. It shows how the combined efforts of people from different countries can create reliable support for those who find themselves in difficult situations because of their political beliefs.
Despite all the difficulties, thanks to this support, Shelter continues its important mission of providing shelter and assistance to those who were forced to leave Belarus in search of freedom and safety.
